ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

1.
The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) is an Inter-Services Institution and a Category
‘A’ establishment of the Ministry of Defence. The College was established in 1922 with the primary
aim of providing quality all round education.

Applications are invited from Boys and Girls for admissions to class VIII in the Rashtriya
Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (Uttarakhand) for JULY 2023 Term which will be
conducted at specified centers on 03rd December 2022 (Saturday).

Entry Age: Candidates appearing for the above test should not be less than 11½ years in
age and should not have attained the age of 13 Years as on 01st July 2023, i.e., they should have
been born, not earlier than 2nd July 2010 and not later than 1st January 2012.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should either be studying in Class VII or Passed
Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e., on
01st July 2023.

Scheme of Examination: The examination comprises of the following:
(a) Written Examination: The examination in Mathematics (09:30-11:00 hours),
General Knowledge (12:00-13:00hrs) andEnglish (14:30-16:30hrs) shall be conducted
on 03rd December 2022 (Saturday).
(b) Viva Voce: The date will be intimated later and will be held for only those
candidates who qualify in the written exam. The date and venue for Viva-voce
willbe intimated later. Intelligence, personality and communication skills of the
candidates will be tested in the viva-voce.
(c) Medical Examination. All the candidates qualified after viva-voce will undergo
a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates
found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.
Themedical examination of the candidates, forms only a part of the system of the
selection and does not imply the final selection.
(d) The wards of Central Government employees can undertake their exam and
viva-voce at the place of posting of employee/ domicile state. However, their
candidature will be considered from their original domicile state. It is, therefore,
mandatory to submit the application in the same state where the examination has
tobe taken.
(e)
The viva-voce will be held for only those candidates who pass the written
exam. The list will be sent to the respective State Governments by RIMC.
(f)
Results will be updated on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. It is the
candidate’s responsibility to check the status regularly.
6.
Examination Centers: The Examination for the children of Telangana State will be
conducted at Hyderabad only.
7.
Fee: The annual fee is at Rs.77,500/- for General candidates and Rs.63,900/- for
SC / ST candidates per year. Fee structure may be revised periodically. At the time
of entry, a Security Deposit of Rs.30,000/- in addition to the annual fee has to be
paid. This is refunded when the cadets graduate from the College
